Govt to introduce Islamic, Vedic and Buddhist studies in schools

Akshay Azad Early Times Report Jammu, June 17: The state government has proposed to introduce Islamic, Vedic and Buddhist studies at Government Higher Secondary Schools' level but experts doubt whether this half-baked exercise will promote malice or cooperation between already divided religious communities. The state government has proposed to create 468 posts of lecturers at Government Higher Secondary Schools level. These posts comprise 356 posts of Islamic Studies including 125 in Jammu and 231 in Kashmir. For Buddhist studies a total of 30 seats are proposed to be created out of which 16 in Jammu and 14 in Kashmir, whereas for Vedic Studies 82 posts for Jammu region alone. Sub-Inspectors’ selection caught in controversy

781 extra seating arrangements for written test create doubt among aspirants Akshay Azad Early Times Report Jammu, June 15: The seating arrangement for 781 more candidates for the upcoming written exam for the posts of Sub-Inspector in J&K Police (Executive) has created doubts among thousands of aspirants. A total of 16,130 candidates had qualified the Physical Standard Test (PST) whereas the seating arrangements for 16911 candidates have been made by the Police Recruitment Board (PRB) for the written examination scheduled to be held on June 24. The candidates who qualified the PST told Early Times that a total of 8069 and 8061 candidates qualified the test from Jammu and Kashmir province, respectively. Government to Regularize Academic Arrangement Lecturers with 10 years of service  Akshay Azad Early Times Report Jammu, June 13: The state government has reportedly decided to regularize all those employees working on academic arrangement basis in Education as well as Health and Medical Education department with 10 years of experience as per SRO-520 of 2018. Though the decision is likely to give much awaited relief to the contractual lecturers working in Health and Medical Education as well as School Education and Higher Education department but it is likely to draw wide criticism from hundreds of highly qualified unemployed youth, as the government has also decided to withdraw all the vacancies, if any, forwarded to the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) for recruitment. A night at border migrants' shelter home

Akshay Azad Jammu, June 12: Repeated violations of ceasefire by Pakistan at the villages along the international border in RS Pura sector have not just caused death and destruction but temporarily uprooted many a lives. Many of those who were forced to abandon their homes and hearths had to stay in make shift shelters including schools, temples and government buildings for days together during shelling.
